At the ITF International Instructor Course in Spain 9 people from Ireland were promoted by the ITF Promotions Committee. Some of those promoted have been very important in my training over the years and I would like to send warm congratulations to;

• Master O'Toole who was promoted to 8th Dan. Master O'Toole was my grading examiner between 1985-1989 and my instructor from 2001-2006 in the TKD Centre.
• Master Gerry Martin, promoted to 7th Dan was also my instructor in the TKD Centre.
• Mr. Stephen Cooley my current instructor since 2005 was promoted to 6th Dan.

It was a once in a lifetime experience to have these people training together and then taking part in such an important grading examination. Each of nine Irish people testing performed to a very high level and demonstrated the reason for the high quality of Taekwon-Do in Ireland. I would also like to mention my other instructors who were not present;

• Mr. Paul Cavanagh, my first instructor from 1985-1993 and
• Master Val Douglas 7th Dan my chief instructor between 1985-2006.
• Master Park Kyung Ho and Master Jung Kye Dong who trained me between 1989-1991.

The input of these people has brought us to where we are today and will shape where the future takes us.
