2011 ITA IRISH CUP REPORT

The Irish Taekwon-Do Association Irish Cup took place on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th of November 2011. This year the event was held in the University of Limerick, Sports Arena and attracted 530 competitors. Dublin ITF sent a team of 45 competitors who performed to a very high level. I am delighted to say that for the first time in the club's history we topped the medal table on both days (Seniors & Cadets on Saturday and Juniors on Sunday). Well done to Ms. Chloe Aboud the best overall competitor winning three Golds! These fantastic results are a credit to the work put in by our students at training five nights per week. A big thank you to our supporters and families for playing their part in the overall team success. Well done everyone, we are so proud to have you all as part of the Dublin ITF team. NEW TIMETABLE @ DUBLIN ITF

Please note that our new timetable goes live from Monday 7th November. TKD Prep, Junior Beginners and Junior Intermediate are now called "Junior TKD" and will train Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6.00pm. Cadets train Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.00pm and on Tuesdays at 6.00pm. Body Combat, our female only cardio kickboxing programme is now led by Ms. Alexandra Birney and is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.00pm. Senior TKD now trains 6 hours per week, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8.00pm to 9.30pm. If you have any questions or queries please contact the Dublin ITF office on 01-8829955.

OCTOBER NEWS AT DUBLIN ITF

October is an exciting month at Dublin ITF. We have kicked off our annual fundraising drive, where each club member can take and complete a sponsorship card. Each member that reaches or exceeds their fundraising target gets rewarded with a Dublin ITF Team tracksuit. After the purchase of tracksuits the remaining funds are being used for the purchase and installation of new energy efficient and environmentally friendly; heating, lighting and ventilation systems. There will be a special prize for the top fundraiser and please remember that all sponsorship cards must be returned by Friday 28th October.

Please note that we will be closed on Thursday 20th & Friday 21st October because of our black belt members and instructors competing in the European Taekwon-Do Championships in Slovakia. There will be NO CLASSES on these dates.

There will be a colour belt grading exam taking place at the end of October. Please check with your instructor if you are eligible and ready to take the exam. The grading examination will take place on:
Junior & Cadets Friday 28/10/2011 @ 5.30pm
Adults 28/10/2011 @ 7.30pm

DUBLIN ITF KICKBOXING TEAM

Dublin ITF sent our kickboxing team to the BMA Rumble in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght on October 3rd. The team performed very well taking 4 Gold, 8 Silver and 7 Bronze from this prestigious event.
